# Noesis Account Settings: Profile, Security, and Data

> Update your profile, notification preferences, and connected integrations from your Noesis Account Settings page. Learn what you can customize.

Your Noesis account settings are the central hub for personalizing how you interact with the platform. From updating your display name and profile picture to managing connected integrations, exporting your research data, or deleting your account entirely, everything you need to control your Noesis experience lives in one place. Whether you've just signed up or you're a long-time user doing a periodic review, taking a few minutes to configure your settings ensures Noesis works exactly the way you want it to.

## Accessing Settings

To open your account settings, click your **avatar** in the top-right corner of any Noesis page, then select **Settings** from the dropdown menu. This takes you directly to your personal settings dashboard.

## Profile Settings

Your profile includes your display name, email address, and profile picture. These fields are visible to collaborators you invite to shared Spaces.

<Note>
  Your profile information — including your name, email address, and profile picture — is synced directly from your authentication provider (Clerk). To update these details, make changes through your sign-in provider's account settings. Noesis will reflect those changes the next time you sign in.

## Notification Preferences

Noesis lets you control which emails you receive so your inbox stays relevant. In the **Notifications** tab of Settings you can toggle:

* **Email updates** — important announcements about changes to your account, subscription, or service.
* **Product announcements** — new features, releases, and improvements to Noesis.

You can disable product announcements at any time. Account-related email (such as billing receipts and security alerts) cannot be turned off, as they are required for the safe operation of your account.

## Connected Integrations

Noesis supports integrations with popular knowledge management tools so you can move your research into the tools you already use. In the **Integrations** tab you can:

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="Notion" icon="n">
    Link your Notion workspace to push Noesis conversation exports directly to a Notion page. Click **Connect** next to Notion, authorize access in the popup, and your integration will be active. To remove it, click **Unlink**.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Obsidian" icon="book">
    Connect your Obsidian vault to export branching conversation threads as Markdown notes. Click **Connect** next to Obsidian and follow the authorization steps. Click **Unlink** at any time to disconnect.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

## Security

### Changing Your Password

Because Noesis uses Clerk for authentication, password management happens through your sign-in provider. To change your password, use the **Forgot Password** flow on the Noesis sign-in screen, or update your credentials directly in your authentication provider's account security settings. Any changes you make there will be reflected in Noesis the next time you sign in.

### Active Sessions

Under the **Security** tab in Settings, you can view all devices and browsers that currently have an active session with your Noesis account. If you see a session you don't recognize, click **Revoke** next to that session to immediately sign it out. To sign out of all sessions at once, select **Revoke All Sessions**.

## Data Management

### Exporting Your Data

You can request a full export of your Noesis data at any time — including all conversations, branches, spaces, and knowledge maps.

1. Go to **Settings → Data & Privacy**.
2. Click **Export My Data**.
3. Noesis will prepare your export and email you a download link within a few minutes.

<Tip>
  Export your data before deleting your account. Once your account is deleted, all associated data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered. Download your export file and confirm its contents are complete before proceeding with deletion.
</Tip>

### Deleting Your Account

Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, all conversations, spaces, branches, and any other data associated with your account from Noesis systems.

1. Go to **Settings → Data & Privacy**.
2. Scroll to the **Danger Zone** section and click **Delete My Account**.
3. Read the confirmation prompt carefully, then type your account email address to confirm.
4. Click **Permanently Delete Account**.

Your account will be immediately deactivated and your data queued for permanent deletion. This action cannot be undone. If you have an active paid subscription, please cancel it first — account deletion does not automatically trigger a refund. See [Subscription & Billing](/account/subscription) for details.
