What Data Noesis Collects

When you create a Noesis account, we collect the following information through Clerk, our authentication provider:
  • Name — your display name as provided during sign-up or synced from your OAuth provider.
  • Email address — used for account communication, billing receipts, and security alerts.
  • Profile picture — synced from your account with your authentication provider, or set during sign-up.
This information is stored securely and used solely to identify you within the platform, personalize your experience, and enable collaboration features like shared Spaces.
Everything you create inside Noesis — your conversations, branching structures, chat sessions, Spaces, and concept maps — is stored as usage data associated with your account. Specifically:
  • Conversations and messages are stored so you can return to them, branch from them, and view them on your concept map at any time.
  • Branching structures capture the full tree of your exploration paths, including alternate branches you created by forking at any message.
  • Spaces and projects organize your work across sessions and are preserved until you choose to delete them.
Your conversation content is sent to third-party AI model providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI) in real time to generate responses. These providers process your messages according to their own data retention and usage policies. We encourage you to review their policies if you handle sensitive information. We also use aggregated, anonymized usage data to improve the performance and quality of the Noesis service.
Noesis integrates with a carefully selected set of third-party services, each serving a specific role:Each of these services maintains its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing them — particularly those of the AI model providers if you work with sensitive research material.
You can request full deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.To delete your account from within Noesis:
  1. Click your avatar (top-right) and select Settings.
  2. Navigate to Data & Privacy.
  3. Scroll to the Danger Zone section and click Delete My Account.
  4. Confirm by entering your account email address, then click Permanently Delete Account.
Your account is immediately deactivated and your data is queued for permanent deletion from our systems, including all conversations, branches, spaces, and concept maps.To request deletion by email:Send a deletion request to support@thinknoesis.xyz from the email address associated with your account. Include “Account Deletion Request” in the subject line. We will process your request and confirm deletion.Important: Deletion is permanent and irreversible. Export your data before proceeding — see Export Your Data for instructions.

How Your Data Is Used

Noesis uses the data we collect for the following purposes:
  • To provide the service — your account data, conversations, and workspace content are the foundation of everything Noesis does.
  • To process AI responses — your messages are sent to AI model providers in real time to generate the responses you see.
  • To improve Noesis — anonymized, aggregated usage patterns help us identify bugs, prioritize features, and improve performance.
  • To communicate with you — we use your email address to send billing receipts, security alerts, and (if you opt in) product announcements.
  • To detect and prevent issues — technical data like IP address and browser type helps us identify abuse, investigate errors, and maintain service security.
Your conversation content is used only to generate responses through our AI model providers and to maintain your workspace. We use aggregated, anonymized usage data — not your personal conversation content — to improve the performance and quality of the service.

Data Storage and Security

Your workspace data is stored with Convex, a modern backend platform that provides:
  • Encryption at rest — all stored data is encrypted using industry-standard algorithms.
  • Encryption in transit — all data transferred between your browser and Noesis servers uses TLS (HTTPS).
  • Real-time sync — Convex enables live collaboration features while maintaining data integrity across devices and sessions.
We implement industry-standard security measures throughout our infrastructure. However, no system connected to the internet can guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact support@thinknoesis.xyz immediately and revoke active sessions in Settings → Security.

Noesis uses only essential cookies — the minimum required for authentication and session management. We do not use:
  • Advertising cookies
  • Cross-site tracking cookies

Vercel Analytics collects anonymous, aggregated usage data without using any cookies. This means your browsing behavior on Noesis is not tracked across other websites.
