Key Concepts

Before you dive in, it helps to know the vocabulary Noesis uses throughout the interface and this documentation. Thread A Thread is a single conversation — the root node and all of its descendant messages. Every time you open a new chat, you’re starting a Thread. Branch A Branch is a fork you create from any message in a Thread. Branching lets you explore a different direction without altering the parent conversation. A single Thread can contain many Branches, and Branches can themselves be branched further. Node A Node is the visual representation of a single message or Branch point on the Concept Map. Each Node is clickable — double-click it to jump directly to that message in the conversation view. Space A Space is a shared workspace that groups related Threads, Branches, and concept maps under one roof. Spaces are the primary unit of collaboration: you invite teammates to a Space and work together in real time. Synthesis Synthesis is the act of selecting two or more Nodes and merging their insights into a single, unified output. It’s how Noesis helps you move from raw exploration to structured understanding — taking the best of every Branch and distilling it into something you can act on.
