Noesis gives you precise, link-based control over what you share and with whom. Rather than opening up an entire Space, you can share a single thread, a specific conversation branch, or a concept map on its own — and assign exactly the level of access that makes sense for each recipient. Whether you’re handing a colleague a live editing session or sending a read-only map to a client, sharing in Noesis is fast, flexible, and reversible.

Sharing a Branch with a Collaborator

1

Navigate to the branch or thread you want to share

Open the Space and select the specific branch or thread from the conversation tree. You can share at any level of the hierarchy — a single branch node, a full thread, or the root conversation.
2

Open the Share menu

Click the Share button in the top-right toolbar of the thread or branch view. The Share menu slides open from the right.
3

Generate a shareable link

Toggle Link sharing to on. Noesis instantly generates a unique shareable URL tied to that specific branch or thread.
4

Set the permission scope

From the dropdown next to the link, choose one of three permission scopes:
  • View only — recipients can read the thread and explore the branch but cannot make changes
  • Comment — recipients can leave inline comments without editing content
  • Edit — recipients gain full editing access to that branch
5

Copy and send the link

Click Copy Link and share it via email, Slack, or any other channel. Anyone who opens the link receives exactly the level of access you set.
Real-time collaborative editing — including live cursors and simultaneous branching via a shared link — requires the Synthesis (11.99/mo)orNoesis(11.99/mo) or **Noesis** (23.99/mo) plan. Recipients on any plan can open view-only links without a Noesis account.
Each shareable link carries one of three permission scopes. You can change the scope or revoke the link at any time from the Share menu.

Sharing a Concept Map vs. Sharing an Entire Space

Noesis lets you share at two different granularities depending on your needs:
Open the concept map view for a specific thread or session. Click Share in the toolbar and generate a link scoped to that map alone. The recipient sees only the visual graph for that session — they don’t get access to your other threads, branches, or Spaces. This is ideal for presentations, reports, or sharing a single research snapshot with someone outside your team.
When presenting research findings or sharing progress with stakeholders, generate a view-only link to your concept map. Recipients get a clean, navigable visual overview without any risk of accidentally modifying your work — and they don’t even need a Noesis account to view it.

Revoking or Updating Sharing Permissions

You stay in full control of shared links even after you’ve sent them:
  1. Open the Share menu on the branch, thread, or concept map
  2. To change the permission scope, select a new level from the dropdown — the change takes effect immediately for anyone who opens the link
  3. To revoke access entirely, click Disable link. The URL is invalidated instantly, and anyone attempting to open it will see an access-denied message
For Space-level collaborators invited by email, you can update or remove their access from the Members tab in Space Settings at any time. When a collaborator opens a shared link that carries Edit access, Noesis treats them as a full real-time participant in that branch:
  • Their cursor appears on your concept map canvas, color-coded with their avatar
  • Any branches they fork or edits they make appear on your screen immediately, with no refresh required
  • Online presence indicators in the toolbar show you who else is viewing or editing alongside you at any given moment

Review Logs

Every edit made inside a shared Space or branch is tracked. Open the Activity panel from the right-side toolbar to see a chronological log of:
  • Who made changes and which nodes or messages were affected
  • When each change occurred, down to the minute
  • Comments left by Commenters, with timestamps and author names
Review logs are read-only and cannot be deleted, giving you a reliable audit trail for collaborative research projects.
